Wetland Wonderland

We have just left Phil Hill Environmental Park on Jabiru Island - a wonderful example of a mangrove wetland area right in the heart of Hope Island and Paradise Point.

Exploring Wetlands

During our SOSE lessons the grade 8 students have been using current social and environmental problems to look into the future and see how we can make things better. The students have been exploring the different types of environments that we have here on the Gold Coast:

• Rainforest - hinterland
• Beach and sand dune
• Wetlands - in paritcular mangroves

This study will be enhanced next Thursday, March 3, when we take a field trip to experience these envrionments first hand.
