We are now at the start of week 3 for the 2011 school year and things are really starting to get into full swing. We have a very busy week ahead preparing for a Grade 8 mapping test and a Grade 9 Volcano test both scheduled for next week. We also have the Junior Secondary swimming carnival fast approaching on Thursday February 17.
It is very important that teachers and parents work together to help the students manage their time and stay on top of what can sometimes be an overwhelming workload. One way we can help the students is to ensure that they are writing homework and assignment due dates in their school diary. Another way is to have a calendar in their home study space that clearly shows when things and due.
With a little planning and organisation we can help the students stay on top of their work and avoid becoming stressed. This is a skill that will serve them well now, and will continue to do so for the rest of their lives.
